【摘要】:Someoilsareformulatedwithorgano-metallicadditiveswhichactasdetergents,antioxidants,antiwearagents,andsoforth.Someoftheseadditivescontainoneormoreoftheseelements:barium,calcium,phosphorus,sulfur,andzinc.Thesetestmethodsprovideameansofdeterminingtheconcentrationoftheseelementswhichinturnprovidesanindicationoftheadditivecontentoftheseoils.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthedeterminationofbarium,calcium,phosphorus,sulfur,andzincinunusedlubricatingoilsatelementconcentrationrangesshownin.Therangecanbeextendedtohigherconcentrationsbydilutionofsamplespecimens.Additivescanalsobedeterminedafterdilution.Twodifferentmethodsarepresentedinthesetestmethods.1.2TestMethodA(InternalStandardProcedure)InternalstandardsareusedtocompensateforinterelementeffectsofX-rayexcitationandfluorescence(seeSectionsthrough).1.3TestMethodB(MathematicalCorrectionProcedure)ThemeasuredX-rayfluorescenceintensityforagivenelementismathematicallycorrectedforpotentialinterferencefromotherelementspresentinthesample(seeSectionsthrough).1.4Thepreferredconcentrationunitsaremass%barium,calcium,phosphorus,sulfur,orzinc.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
