【摘要】:Thissubstituteoceanwatermaybeusedforlaboratorytestingwhereareproduciblesolutionsimulatingseawaterisrequired.Examplesarefortestsonoilcontamination,detergencyevaluation,andcorrosiontesting.Note28212;Thelackoforganicmatter,suspendedmatter,andmarinelifeinthissolutiondoesnotpermitunqualifiedacceptanceoftestresultsasrepresentingperformanceinactualoceanwater.Wherecorrosionisinvolved,theresultsobtainedfromlaboratorytestsmaynotapproximatethosesecuredundernaturaltestingconditionsthatdiffergreatlyfromthoseofthelaboratory,andespeciallywhereeffectsofvelocity,saltatmospheres,ororganicconstituentsareinvolved.Alsotherapiddepletionofreactingelementspresentinlowconcentrationssuggestscautionindirectapplicationofresults.1.1Thispracticecoversthepreparationofsolutionscontaininginorganicsaltsinproportionsandconcentrationsrepresentativeofoceanwater.Note18212;Sincetheconcentrationsofoceanwatervarieswithsamplinglocation,thegrossconcentrationemployedhereinisanaverageofmanyreliableindividualanalyses.Traceelements,occurringnaturallyinconcentrationsbelow0.005mg/L,arenotincluded.1.2Thispracticeprovidesthreestocksolutions,eachrelativelyconcentratedbutstableinstorage.Forpreparationofsubstituteoceanwater,aliquotsofthefirsttwostocksolutionswithaddedsaltarecombinedinlargervolume.Anaddedrefinementinadjustmentofheavymetalconcentrationisprovidedbytheadditionofasmallaliquotofthethirdstocksolutiontotheprevioussolution.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
